  I used this on a piece of my garage roof that I tore down, it cut though with ease! It was a galvanized panel so that was impressive. I’m excited to try it out on more types of metal. It was easy to set up, and I like that it is quieter and not sparky compared to using an angle grinder 😄

  I am not particularly enthused by this Yu&Yang Electric Drill Plate Cutter. I found the operation crude, and I could see no obvious way to get more precise results.It DOES cut sheet metal, but it took a bit of trial and error before I could get it to work. Left-handed operation wasn’t working for me. And figuring out the angle of the tool to the work-piece was left to the user’s imagination (hint: the tool needs to be almost vertical to the sheet). The very limited assembly instructions call out the adjustment screw, but don’t give a clue how it should be set (research elsewhere said the two wheels need to touch).When I finally got it to work, right-handed, I was frustrated by an inability to cut either a straight or a precise line. If it is indeed possible, they need to include usage instructions and hints. This might be useful for cutting chicken wire, but I personally am not impressed with the utility of this tool.

  I was skeptical if this thing would work for more than a meter.Many many more meters of cutting later, this thing is very much a go to for when I need to cut sheet metal or metal wire nets.Before, I was using shears to rough cuts from sheets and snips for the wire sheets - both were labourious and eventually also painful. Saw this option pop up, and picked it up to try with my drill - and after a lot of adjusting and various configurations with my Ryobi drill, I managed to get it to fit pretty securely and went to task with the sheet aluminum that I needed to modify an extractor.Not only did it do a good job, but finally, I can cut without creating little snags that you get from a shear, yes, the sheet still curves, due to the bend whilst cutting, but it means it much quicker and easier to get an accurate enough line cut out.And it kept going.I guess, I will have to recommend it - please, if you have such a need, save yourself some blisters and use one of these things :)

  I bought the shears after watching exciting videos. I was not able to repeat them. After assembling per instructions and adjusting the contact between the wheels I tried to cut aluminum flashing (0.2mm). When the sheet is large, it could be cut first 6 inches. But attempt to cut the stripe 0.5in wide fails. The shears bend the metal between the wheels, instead of cutting it. Then I tried 0.25mm stainless steel stripe (see photos) but I was only able to chew it or bend it between the wheels. It looks that supporting arm bends and the metal bends and gets into the gap. Finally, I thought that it might need more rigid material - and I took 0.4mm mild steel which can be cut easily by hand shears. This was the final gasp of the product - its metal arm broke apart.I think that the idea of rotary shears is neat, but it certainly needs a much stronger steel construction and better design. Not meeting description, and certainly not recommended.

  I’m new to metal working but these make hitting your lines and clean cuts a ton easier than metal shears. A bit of adjustments and it work great.

  Husband used it for trimming around our camper to seal it for winter . We use foam board and it was a fast easy clean edge and what a joy to use . I will use it for fabric and materials as well. Simple to use much bigger and stronger than a thought it would be. Easy clean up . Great buy

  This is easy to setup and allows you to use your drill as a cutter. I needed to cut some flashing and this made light work of the task. This is a huge improvement over tin snips and gives a better quality finish.
