I bought the metal nibbler to do metal roofing and siding. This tool cuts really fast with both straight and curved cutting heads. It seems to be made pretty solid and I expect it to hold up to some abuse.
I have never used any other nibbler, so, I'm giving it 4 stars. It has worked really well for me. It's quick, in my inexperienced opinion. It cuts about a 16th or 8th wide cut. I don't know if any other attachments are available. I do know, this was about the least expensive nibbler I could get, and I'm very happy. It cuts my 26 guage steel very well. No sign of wear.
Had to trim out part of an inner fender. Didn’t read the directions but luckily chose the right side. One side swivels and the other doesn’t. Surprising great feature I didn’t know I needed because of the lack of room.
Tool was very useful cutting steel roofing for a shed. Cuts as fast as a scroll saw. Saw is heavier than your average cutting tool. The tool comes with a grip to hold laterally and a second upright handle to hold tool upright. A gust of wind blew the sheet I was about to cut and it struck me while I had the tool in my hand and it broke the plastic handle off. Would have been much better if it were made of steel. However I was able to finish the project without it. This tool basically stamps out pieces and so the upper edge of material is fairly smooth, but the bottom has a fine serrated edge to it and will cut you if not wearing gloves.
I previously was using a scissor type cutter on profile metal roofing.....a real pain traveling over the ribs. This type goes through like hot knife in butter. + I can do easily cut small intricate cuts. I have numerous Makita, Fein and Milwaukee tools and the Quality of this much lower cost unit appears very solid. It's cut over 150 feet of 26 gauge and it rocks!
If you want to cut in a straight line, this is great. This is not easy to cut corners, angles or shapes. Straight lines, this cuts like butter. Make sure you constantly check the screws at the cutting head, because they constantly vibrate loose and fall out.
Broke down after cutting 1 8 ft galvanized panel
Vevor is the Taurus firearms for tools I’m starting to realize. Quality tools for great prices
This works great for cutting metal roofing. It takes some practice to cut the "humps" and straight cuts. Well worth the money.
Well, it’s definitely Chinese, but it works as expected! I’m always skeptical when a tool clearly comes right off the boat from over there, but it cut all the panels in my shop just fine!!
