Bought to spray oil base paint on trim and doors inside the house and it worked very well.
This isn't the typical R500 that you normally see, aside from the body color the two major differences are that this one uses 5cfm compared to the original 3.5 cfm every other model consumes and has a completely different air hole set up on the air cap. maybe with a higher sure usage this model might atomize better, the only real down falls about this gun so far is that the trigger is very stiff and I haven't seen any other parts for it

I was looking for a better spray gun, mainly for car body upkeep, that had a bit more coverage, as I've been using a Grex airbrush and, while it's great for small areas, just doesn't cut it for, say, an entire quarter panelI didn't want to spend a ton of money (the Grex was something like $200) and started poking around - this one come up and looked good for the price.I have to say I'm amazed at what you can get for $50 these days. This unit performed WAY better than expected and, while not everything is top quality - the pressure gauge/regulator is adequate, what you'd expect in a $50 package. A better one would cost $20-$30 just by itself and, personally, the one that came with it is totally usable. I have other, better regulators lying around but continue to use the one it came with as I've seen no reason to 'upgrade'.All the regulator knobs on the gun itself work well, the gun is sturdily built and has a good 'feel' when spraying, as in the trigger is smooth and delivers what you'd expect.I've been using mine since August without any product issues - keep it clean, maintain it properly and I see no reason why this won't last years/decades. I bought my Grex back in...2010 and it's still going strong. I have no indications that this one will be in action just as long.
The quality of the gun is mediocre. It is what you would expect for an entry level tool. However, you get a lot for your money. The flow adjustment knob spins freely with zero resistance, so it’s easy to accidentally adjust it while spraying. I confirmed many other reviews, saying the first nozzle is virtually impossible to remove. I bent a forged wrench in an attempt to remove it. Only after I placed the gun in a vice and locked channel locks to the nozzle did it finally yield. Hopefully the new grooves around its edge from the vice grips don’t hamper performance. I believe the issue is the nozzle was inserted before the paint on the gun had completely dried, and the paint acted like red Loctite. After that, however, nozzles are easy to replace. So overall, I am happy with the purchase as this was to see how this method of spraying met our needs. It produces a nice even coat, the tool is easy to clean, so I would now have no problem spending a couple hundred dollars on a quality gun when the need arises.
This is super easy to use and clean. It works great and provides and even smooth paint job. The paint gun is well made and good quality.
Although not a professional grade, it will outperform most standard HD type of spray guns! It has all the bells and whistles that other most expensive guns have. I used it to repaint my kitchen cabinets and it worked great! The only issue you must be aware is the exchangeable filter. Very flimsy and doesn’t fit tight.
This is awesome spray paint gun. It’s easy to clean, made of metal, and simple to use. It has air flow garage and can be adjusted. We used it to paint this truck and it was fast, applied paint evenly, and didn’t leak. For the money I rate its performance up there with the best. It comes with some stuff to clean it with and breaks down easily.
Just got it. Haven’t used it yet, but I noticed a big complaint was not being able to get the factory tip out. So I immediately went to my shop to try it. Impossible with the wrench that comes with it. I clamped the wrench in my table vise and it distorted the wrench without moving the tip. I couldn’t keep it from slipping out. Finally I just clamped the tip in the vise by putting two spacers so I’d still be pulling on the flat area of the tip meant for the wrench. I honestly thought the gun was going to break before it came loose. But I got it, it seems they put a sealant on the threads because it wasn’t finger loose until the last couple of threads.
While I was impressed with the kit when it arrived, I tried to change the spray tip that was installed with the gun. In the description, it stated it would be a little tight. That is a gross understatement! I had to use so much force the tool bent until it became unusable. Tried vise grips with no luck. Boxed the kit up and sent it back.
