We are using it to cut corrugated tin for outbuilding skirting. It sure beats using a metal cutting blade on a circular saw and once you get past the learning curve it actually works fairly good. The instructions do leave much to be desired, so be prepared for trial and error. Also be aware, that the design only allows use of the smallest 20v batteries, so have an extra charged up.
Great attachment. Works as advertised.
I don't do a lot of sheet metal work, but this was still worth the modest investment. I have used it on galvanized ductwork for a furnace, roof flashing and guttering. Works great and is fun to use compared to metal shears.
bracket not perfect fit on black & decker 20v impact driver but solid and works fine. lots of ways to pivot it and once running is easy cut. note only one side of cut os 'clean' other has some flex and bends.
I bought this as an alternative to using a corded tool to cut corrugated roofing material for a chicken coop. All the reviews I read were positive, and after using it, I heartily agree. It's easy to install, easy to maneuver (although it takes a bit of work to navigate steeper ridges of corrugated), and keeps a straight line. As stated by other users, the trick with this tool is to keep the drill speed kinda slow--you have more control, and the blades stay sharp and cool. Strongly recommend this tool.
I bought this as a gift for my bf. He’s building a garage and needed something to help him cut the metal for the walls. This does not cut through the ridges but he uses a grinder to cut through those and then this attachment flies through the flat parts.
Used this to cut all the metal roofing and siding on a barn project. It cuts thin flat sheet metal like butter. On the siding it takes a little patience and maneuvering to get over the ribs but it saves so much time for little money. It will distort the edge a bit on metal siding around the ribs so be sure to cut the end that goes in the J channel.
I'm not sure what drills it's meant to work with but didn't work for mine. I like the idea but implementation Destin needs work. Appears sturdy.
Worked like a champ!
I had a cheap sheet metal cutter that connects to the drill and has steel rolling wheels. When i tried using it to cut the .068" aluminum diamond tread-plate, it would just spin on the raised tread sections. So, I hopped to the reviews and saw this trusty Dewalt cutter that has tens of thousands of good reviews for a reason. It fits perfectly on my Makita 18V drill and cut through the tread-plate with no problems. I highly recommend having this in the tool box,, glad I do!
