  I bought this Chef's Choice to replace another brand new sharpener that didn't sharpen at all. This device seems much better made, and while it isn't the top of the line, it holds its own pretty well. I haven't had it long enough to sharpen all my knives, but it's a respectable appliance. I would recommend it for anyone who doesn't have over $100 to spend on a knife sharpener. It's a good substitute.

  Puts a nice edge on standard knives. Has a problem with thicker hunting and survival type knives, but a well made machine.

  This is my second Chef’s Choice sharpener. I had the first one for ten years and finally wore out the stones. I took this one out of the box and immediately sharpened all my knives. When I was done, the knives cut like they had been sharpened professionally. This sharpener can sharpen serrated blades, a big plus over my old one. I highly recommend the Chef’s Choice for anyone who knows the value of keeping their knives sharp.
